The ghostly children of the Dursts. After escaping The Death House, you laid their bones to rest in the cemetery in the Village of Barovia.
They were locked in their rooms by their increasingly unhinged parents, and starved to death.
Gustav, Elisabeth, Rose, Thorn and baby Walter. They were the wealthy owners of a local mill, secret cultists, and cursed by Strahd's ire.
They formed a cult, hoping to summon a dark creature, and to impress Strahd, hoping to attain his good graces. Strahd sneeringly dismissed them. Gustav fathered a child out of wedlock with their nanny, Klara. They eventually performed their ritual, creating a hideous Flesh Mound, housing their infant son, which promptly killed both them and the other cultists.
Since then, the animated Death House has appeared across the planes, tricking adventures just like you to enter. Once inside, it lured them to the Flesh Mound for feeding. In the unlikely event the adventurers escaped the house, they would find themselves trapped in Strahd's realm, providing some measure of entertainment to him as he hunted them for sport.
When you met Ismark, he was the son of the Burgomaster of the Village of Barovia. He struggles to be a good man, and live up to the legend of his great grandfather, Ismark the Great. When the townspeople talked of fleeing to Vallaki, he gave a rousing speech imploring them to remain and stand their ground against the undead hordes. Many remained, but some fled to Vallaki. As casualties have mounted, some of those left behind have come to resent him, bitterly referring to him as "Ismark the Lesser".
After helping fend of the nightly undead attack, he found Strahd had bitten hise sister Ireena, and killed his father, leaving him as the new Burgomaster of the village.
Due to the villagers superstitions about red-headed women, he pleaded with Ireena to travel to Vallaki for her safety, and persuaded the party to escort her there.
To the world, Ismark is a courageous, reliable, and compassionate leader. To those he trusts, Ismark is a self-doubting, struggling warrior desperate to keep his loved ones safe. Deep down, Ismark worries that he will never live up to his ancestor's deeds—and fears that he has already irreparably failed.
Gertruda is the betrothed of Doru. Her mother, Mary, informed Ismark that she had gone missing, and suspects that she went alone to the castle, hoping to convince Strahd to cease the nightly undead attacks.
The Burgomaster of the Village of Barovia found Ireena wandering the woods alone when she was a child, and took her in as his own adopted daughter. She has grown to be a proud and fierce Cleric of the the Morninglord, aka Lathlander.
To the world, Ireena is a compassionate, curious, yet stubborn young noblewoman. To those she trusts, Ireena is an anxious, yet determined young woman who dreams of freedom and adventure. Deep down, Ireena wonders whether giving herself up to Strahd would be the best way to protect those she loves.
She has grudgingly accepted her brother's wish to flee to Vallaki, deciding that the villagers who fled to there earlier, if still alive, will need her help. She considers this a "humanitarian mission".

To the world, Father Donavich is a grieving, yet zealous father. To those he trusts, Donavich is a broken man adrift in the world, lost and confused without guidance or purpose.
He asked you to slay the foul creature that "wears my son's skin like a cloak". When he found that his son, Doru, had resisted the evil urges of his vampire spawn form, and that his son, perhaps, still resided within the spawn, he was overjoyed.
Doru has always longed to free his village of the oppressive fog and bring true sunlight back to the land, inspired by the books he read when young speaking of great heroes. When a travelling visitor, "Alanik Rey" was revealed to actually be the famed monster hunter Rudolf van Richten, threatening to expose Van Richten's disguise, convinced him to lead him and a group of young villagers to the castle. With the intent of slaying the long sleeping vampire, and freeing the village, they made their way to Strahd's coffin. Only to find that his best friend, Escher, had been taken, and the coffin was empty.
Soon after, Strahd and his minions descended upon the party, turning Doru and Escher into vampire spawn and forcing them to feed upon their friends.
When he begain the assualt on the village, Strahd cruelly sent Doru to attack his father. Father Donavich was lucky and managed to trap Doru in the churches undercroft. After the party allowed him to prove to them, and Doru himself, that he could resist the draw of the vampire's evil, he was reunited with his father.
However, Doru cannot resist any direct orders from Strahd.
To the world, Madam Eva appears as a wise, yet maddened crone who speaks in prophecies and riddles. To those she trusts, she appears as a kind, yet frustratingly opaque and stubborn old woman.
In life he was a member of the Order of the Silver Dragon. In death he, and his fellows from the Order, were brought back to this plane for unknown reasons. This particular revenant, along with several others, were banished from Argynvostholt, and placed under a compulsion to not raise arms against Strahd or his minions. He suggested the party travel to Argynvostholt and speak with Sir Godfrey Gwilym.
Morgantha and her 2 daughters live in an old mill on the road between Tser Falls and Vallaki. They bake and sell Dream Pastries to the villagers.
The Martikov family own and operate The Blue Water Inn. Urwin cooks while Danika runs the front of the house. Their children, Bray and Brom, play underfoot.

The priest of the Vallakian Church of St Andral. He is a serene, humble, and compassionate priest who is always happy to share a word of praise or a few pearls of wisdom. To those he trusts, Father Lucian is a dedicated and stalwart defender of his community, who nonetheless worries about his ability to keep his congregants safe
You helped recover the bones of St Andral, which will allow him to re-hallow the church in the coming days. He offered Ireena a place to stay, and she is now staying there, helping him as well as trying to aid the Barovian refuges outside the town.
The young handyman for the church, he was persuaded by Henrik to steal the Bones of St Andral, using the resulting money to feed his family, including his mother who is addicted to Dream Pastries.
Hernik is a carpenter, and coffin-maker. He was forced to help procure the Bones of St Andral by one of the Brides of Strahd, Volenta Popofsky. He pled for help and mercy when confronted, and directed you to the stolen bones. He fled his house with you during the running battle with Volenta.
Volenta was the mastermind behind the theft of the Bones of St Andral, though you have no idea what her intent was.
She seemed very capable, very evil, and very insane.
Blinksy is the local toymaker. His designs tend to be whimsical and dark. You discovered that he had been creating a very lifelike doll... that creepily resembled Ireena, at the behest of Izek Strazni.
Leader of the band of Vistani. Injured in a wold trap while searching for his missing daughter, Arabelle.
Brother and right hand man of Luvash, Uncle of Arribella.
A quiet and withdrawn scholar, with a powerful curiosity and a fierce dedication to his people. He gave you the signet ring found at the site of Arabelle's capture, and suggested researching it in the Baron's library.

The Liuetenant of Baron Vallakovich. He has an unnatural, perhaps demonic, red right arm. He is a brutal man, delivering "justice" and carrying out the will of the Baron.
You found out that he is apparently the brother of Ireena, separated long ago, when she was lost and presumed killed by wolves.
At the behest of Lady Wachter, the party assasinated him, allowing Lady Wachter to take command of the city of Vallaki.
The son of Baron Vallakovich, he is a strange, quiet boy, and a self-taught mage. He asked you to visit the tower on Lake Baratok, seeking information about the signet ring, as well as finding him a staff of the archmage Kazan.
The Baron seems a bit unhinged, demanding constant "happiness" from all, and holding various festivals every couple of weeks, each supposed to ensure more happiness... which he believes is the key to resisting Strahd.
He thinks the Barovian refuges and Dusk Elves are inherently unhappy people, and will not allow them within the city walls.
Using his Hat of Disguise to blend in, as Rictavio, van Richten is a famous monster hunter, as well as the rescuer and protector of Arabelle.
Arabelle, the daughter of Luvash, was the target of a kidnapping attempt, seemingly ordered directly by Strahd, for unknown reasons.
She was saved by Rudolph van Richten, and occasionaly falls into a trance and a old woman's voice speaks prophecy through her.
With the help of the party, Lady Wachter has assumed leadership of the town of Vallaki, becoming Baroness Wachter. With her help, the Heartstone of the Night Hags, Morgantha Stormreaver, Belladonna Sunbane, and Offalia Wormwiggle was aquired, allowing the party to rescue her daughter Bella's soul from the Ethereal Plane.
As a young girl she ran away to study with the swamp witch, Baba Lysaga, before returning the the family home after her parents died.
The daughter of Lady Fiona Wachter, her soul was seperated from her body accidently, due to a failed experiment of Viktor Valloakovich. Viktor used the hag's Heartstone to cast a modified teleportation circle, and the party protected him and Lady Wachter while it was being cast, reuniting soul and body.
She is shy, and close friends with Viktor.
The ghost of Rudolph van Richten's dead sone, Erasmus. He aided in returning Stella Wachter's soul to her body.
A horrifying amalgam of the assasin Leo Dislsnya and dozens of castle guards murdered by Strahd von Zarovich.
The party killed him while protecting Viktor and Lady Wachter during the ritual to restore Stella Wachter's soul.
